The Crooked Road

I can see a light from a distance

Where all darkness and misery ends

And the body and mind transcends

To eternal peace and blissfulness

To get there is hard and dangerous

For the road is crooked and treacherous

Without light makes it more arduous

Stepping out of track is disastrous

How can I surpass the challenge

And avoid the harm and damage

From the crooked road's traps and ravage

I am just human, I can't manage

Then I heard a voice that called my name

It was strong and fiery like a flame

"Don't stop now, move forward", it proclaims

"I'm weak, I can't go on", I exclaim

The voice said, "Don't be afraid, my dear"

"Where the light is lies a new frontier"

"Where there's no pain, suffering, or fear"

"You will never again shed a tear."

The words of wisdom gave me courage

To proceed with this risky voyage

I stood up straight and gathered knowledge

Lessons I learned from my previous stoppage

I realized I was in this scene

Even before I was in my teen

I looked back, it's clear how far I've been

This crooked road, from the beginning
